Updating the FastViewer OnPremise Server to Version 5.x from Versions Prior to 5.x

Prerequisites

The FastViewer Server 5.x is now based on .NET 10. Before updating the server, install the following Microsoft runtimes:

• Desktop Runtime (.NET 10)
• ASP.NET Core Runtime (.NET 10)

Both packages must be installed before starting the updated server; otherwise, the Webconference service fails at startup.

Update Procedure

1. Stop the WebconferenceServer Windows service before replacing any files.
2. Before making any other changes, create a backup of the installation folder.
3. Remove all files from the root directory of the installation folder, but keep the
   following files:
   settings.ini
license.lic
   Do not delete any of the existing subfolders.
4. Unpack all files and folders from the FastViewer Server 5.x update package
   into the installation root directory.
   Some of the folders will be overwritten during the update procedure.
5. Start the WebconferenceServer Windows service again.

Please note that the first startup after the update may take several minutes, as the
server performs initialization tasks and database updates.

If you have more than one Webconference server, repeat the update on all servers.
